Privacy & Cookies
Last updated: 3 August 2026
Economicium keeps data collection to the minimum needed to run the site. This page explains what we collect, the cookies we and our partners use, and the choices you have.
Cookies & similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and local storage:
- Essential / functional, remembering your light/dark theme choice and the last inputs you type into a tool, so a calculator opens the way you left it. These stay in your browser and don't track you across other sites.
- Security, if bot-protection is enabled on forms, our provider (Cloudflare Turnstile) may set a cookie to tell humans from bots.
- Analytics, set by Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device) so we can improve it. Only set with your consent. Cloudflare Web Analytics also runs, but it is cookieless and sets nothing on your device.
Advertising
There is none. Economicium runs no ad network, sets no advertising cookies, and shares nothing with ad vendors. There is no advertising option in the consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. If that ever changes, this policy and the banner will change first.
We ask for your consent before non-essential (analytics) cookies are set, via a consent banner shown on your first visit. You can change your choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page.
Analytics
Two things measure traffic here, and they work very differently.
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views, referrers, rough location and device type. It sets no cookie, stores nothing on your device and does not fingerprint you, so there is nothing to consent to and nothing to opt out of. This is the one we actually read day to day.
Google Analytics 4 gives a more detailed picture of which tools get used. It does set cookies, so it only loads if you agree to analytics in the consent banner, and it records the pages you visit and your approximate location. We never use it to work out who you are. See Google's privacy policy, or opt out entirely with the opt-out browser add-on.
We used Microsoft Clarity until 16 August 2026 and have removed it. It recorded sessions and built heatmaps, and although it redacted typed text by default, session recording on pages where people enter their net worth and open positions was not a trade we wanted to keep making. No replay tool runs on this site now.
Your inputs stay in your browser
All calculators, statement analyzers and trading journals run on your device. Everything you do in these tools is done locally; your account balance, risk settings, trades and any file you drop into them are processed entirely within your browser and unless you activate the trading-journal sync option (below) will not be sent or stored on our servers. Where a tool remembers last inputs for future use it does so by using local storage provided by your web browser which you can clear at any time.
Trading-journal sync (optional)
The trading journal is local-first: by default your trades live only in your browser. If you choose to sign in with Google, we store a copy of your journal so it syncs across your devices. What we store is limited to your trade entries, keyed to the stable account identifier Google returns when you sign in. We never receive or store your Google password, and we do not use your email address as the key or for marketing. Signing in relies on Google Identity Services; see Google's privacy policy. You can remove the synced copy at any time with the journal's "Remove cloud copy" button, or by emailing us; signing out leaves the local copy on your device untouched. Stay signed out and nothing from the journal is ever uploaded.
Contact form
If you message us, we use the name, email, and message you provide solely to reply. We don't use it for marketing.
Data retention
Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry. Anything a tool saves (your theme and your last inputs) lives in your browser's local storage, not on our servers, so clearing your browser data removes it.
Your rights & contact
You can request access to or deletion of your data, or ask any privacy question, at our contact page. If we change this policy, we'll update the date above.
